Description
My husband and I were over the moon when we learned that we were pregnant earlier this year. We knew right away that we wanted to wait to find out the baby’s gender in the delivery room; so I began my quest to find ideas for a gender neutral nursery that wasn’t your typical mint green and pale yellow.
Design Inspiration
Some of the best ideas I found for our nursery design were on Project Nursery! The item that inspired the room’s signature turquoise teal ceiling color was the military phonetic alphabet wall art I found at Homegoods. I loved the color and esthetic of this piece right away and had to buy it since my husband is a former Naval officer.
Decorating Style
My style is transitional, mixing contemporary and classic looks for a fresh feel. I wanted a room for our baby that was functional and fun, and that felt put-together without having a theme.

Favorite Items
I have so many favorites in the room; it’s hard to pick just a few things. I love everything about the crib’s accent wall (the big stuffed animals, decals, bunting, etc). Also, the alphabet wall was such a fun project – searching for all the letters, decorating each one, and torturing my husband with hanging and re-hanging them. Painting the ceiling and installing the crown molding make this room look stunning, and full credit must be given to my amazing hubby!
Advice
Pregnancy is long and can be stressful at times. I had so much fun focusing on our baby’s nursery; it became quite the entertaining hobby for me these past nine months. Now I’m just overjoyed to know with our little one’s impending arrival (any day now), he/she has this adorable room to call his/her own!
Gorgeous room! Love your alphabet wall! Tons of super cute details and colors :) Awesome job! I noticed the little lion on your shelf also what a cute Scentsy Buddy :)
