Description
I only spent $40 on decorations and paper goods for my son's The Very Hungry Caterpillar themed first birthday.
Design Inspiration
My son is in love with the book and I saw some great plates and table cloths at Target, so I used the store bought stuff as a base and worked off of that.
Decorating Style
I'm typically pretty neutral and transitional, but I had fun with this colorful party.
Project Details
I made the cupcake toppers, thank-you tags, pom-poms, and lolli-pop cookie favors. You can find more details on my blog: The Thrifty Abode.
Favorite Items
The lolli-pop cookies were time consuming, but I love how they turned out.
Advice
DIY as much as you can if you're throwing a party on a budget.
