Modern, Clean and Simple. I'm sure we will accumulate a ton of things the next few months so I wanted to keep the room simple with the necessities and build from there.
Grey and yellow! Because we aren’t finding out the sex of the baby, we decided on either Green, Yellow, Brown or Gray color schemes. We went with Gray, Yellow and Dark Brown furnishings.
Modern, comfortable, simple, affordable. Most everything in the room were purchased at a discount or cheap price. We started out the room with a crib handed down from my brother. From there we began painting the walls gray. The king size circle bed and tv give us with the option to stay with the baby if need be. We also will be placing Pom Poms above the crib once we get the Poms back from the baby shower.
Less is more. Design and print stuff yourself (if possible). To create the head silhouettes, I took a photo our heads and finalized it in photoshop, then printed it on standard paper. The ABC photo frame was inspired from another ABC photo seen online. I designed one similar and added my own accent animals and graphic elements and printed it on inkjet photo paper.
Here is a list of items we purchased and from where:
Ottoman Storage (Dark Brown): Target
Cube Shelves: Target
Area Rug (yellow): Ikea http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80203782/
Circle Bed (I think it's discontinued now): Ikea
Picture Frame Ledge: Ikea http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50152595/
Lights: Ikea http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80155012/
Upcoming Future Additions: Die-cut vinyl added to the walls of the circle bed area, Pom Poms above the crib and more wall and shelve decor (books, frames and more).
The silhouettes, the circle king bed and lamps.
If possible, take your time and start early. Come up with your color scheme first and work on building around an item. We started with a hand me down crib and built around it. Try to do things yourself when possible like photos and posters. Get creative with frames and experiment. Keep costs low and look for sales.
I'd love to hear any recommendations or ideas for my room. Thanks
