Description
A playful room for a toddler celebrating the humble dandelion
Decorating Style
Relaxed and fun.
Project Details
I didn't want my daughter's room to be too frilly, but I wanted to use hot pink as an accent color to match the pink bouganvilla flowers that grow outside her window. I didn't really have a theme, although my love for flowers and dandelions played a role in decorating her room.
Details:
The paint is Silver Sage from Restoration Hardware. The crib and dresser are second hand but are originally from Pottery Barn. The bedding is DwellStudio from Target. The chair, dandelion chandelier, rug and bookcase are from Ikea. The curtains are from World Market. The dandelion decal is from Etsy (Chickadee Vinyl is the seller).
Favorite Items
Probably the belly cast. I painted it myself, and it amazes me that my growing daughter once fit in there!
What is the color of your paint?
Definitely loving the belly cast myself, but the whole room is absolutely beautiful. Great job!
belly cast! best art ever!
Hi TatumRose: I actually found the bookshelves at Ikea as you have said, I so love them!
Hi Tatum: Thanks for sharing your sources. :)
Thanks! I ordered the belly cast online — it’s a simple technique using plaster strips and water. You have to let it dry on you for about 15 minutes. My husband applied it, then I sanded and painted it.
The bookshelves are from Ikea, and the fabric bins are from Target.
Clean, bright and inviting. This room is simple yet amazing. I love the way you have those photo frames in different size over there. And the bookshelves… where did you buy that? Did you make that???
I love the belly cast! Where did you have it done?
Needless to say, I think the best piece in this room is the belly cast too (Although, I have to admit it’s difficult to single just one item out!!!) I love the chandelier too. It looks like you really made it a point to shop around first and get the best pieces from different sources. Nice work!
