Description
When I found out we were having a boy I knew I wanted some nautical touches but not necessarily dripping with the traditional red, navy and sailboats motif. My plan was to create a calm, sophisticated nautical nursery that Hampton could grow into.
Design Inspiration
My family spends a ton of time on the water, in a little town called Deltaville. I'm sure it will be one of Hampton's favorite places to go! The rope, anchors, and blue touches remind me of "The Rivah", but with a modern feel of big city life in Arlington, right outside of Washington, DC.
Decorating Style
My husband is pretty opinionated when it comes to design because of his business, furniture logistics. He sees all kinds of awesome pieces and designs daily and has very modern taste. I'm more traditional so we try to meet somewhere in between so we are both happy.
Favorite Items
The first rope piece I decided on was the Orb chandelier from Restoration Hardware Baby and Child. It's my favorite! I love how its subtle but still a hit of nautical.
