Description
As an interior designer, I always dreamed of creating a nursery for my own children. I finally got the chance to do that last year when my husband and I were expecting our first baby, Sofia. We worked together on every aspect of the room. Now our daughter is 1 year old and the room is just as fresh, fun, and vibrant as when we first put it together. She loves it!
Design Inspiration
I take inspiration for my projects from many, many sources. The inspiration for Sofia's nursery was the feeling I wanted to convey in this room: fun, vibrant, feminine, sweet, and light. All the pieces come together to form a space that is perfect for my baby, as well as the rest of the family. The colors of the room are feminine without being too sweet, and the details such as the geometric lamp and abstract painting, add a touch of modern sophistication.
Decorating Style
The decorating style for this room is eclectic and transitional. I like the unexpected mix of pieces and colors, combining new furniture with family heirlooms, pieces bought during travels, and personal touches such as the cherry blossom photos my husband took.
