Description
I was inspired by my love of Sister Parish fabric to design my nursery. I wanted it to be sophisticated but still warm and cozy. I started with the crib set fabric and then built the rest of the room around a green and white theme. To add warmth I used a teal blue paint color from Sherwin Williams in Tempo Teal.
Design Inspiration
The birth of our first baby - a boy. After trying to conceive for over 3 years I could not wait to pour all the ideas I'd been storing up into this nursery project!
Decorating Style
Eclectic with a splash of modern.
Project Details
The fabric came from Sister Parish Design. The paint is Tempo Teal from Sherwin Williams. I made the roman shades using this easy tutorial from Little Green Notebook. The lamp and dresser are both Ikea. The prints I bought on Etsy from artist Sharon Montrose. Lastly the beautiful sling is from Serena and Lily.
Favorite Items
I love the fabric and the chair. I fell in love with the Sister Parish fabric and decided early on that that would be the foundation for the room. The apple green and white are so fresh and bright. Next I love the comfy chair which was a Craigslist find for $60! I actually upholstered the ottoman myself and then took the chair to a professional. It is cozy and soft and I can't wait to cradle my son in it!
Advice
My best advice is to start with one element that you love and build off of that. I carried those fabric samples around for months with me! Whenever I was unsure about what to buy for the nursery I would pull out the fabric and make sure that the paint or furniture would work with it.

Love the nursery! My bedroom is painted a similar color - it's wonderful. I'm a fan of the "You Are So Loved" banners on the wall - could you share how you made those?
Congratulations on your baby boy :)

I think that the white on blue and green really stands out. Mind you blues and greens are very difficult to mix and blend, yet you've managed to achieve a good design here. Kudos to you on that!
And I love that lamp!

I love the blue, green, white combo in this room. The lamp and tufted chair are my favorites and the "you are so loved" artwork is precious.
