Shared Room Chevron and Eclectic

Description

Wanted to make this room unisex without using yellows & greens, we also wanted to keep it simple & modern and fun. We chose on black, white, orange & teal. We used new, vintage & refurbished pieces.

Design Inspiration

Chevron Stripe and pops of orange & teal. I have always loved black & white together & just went off of that. They can still grow into this room without it being too childish.

Decorating Style

I am more eclectic &  modern, my husband is country, so we somewhat butted heads on this room, but I got my way mostly.

Project Details

Toddler bed & bedding is from Ikea, wood dresser was my husbands childhood dresser, my husband made the toy box for our older daughter which she grew out of. Skateboards with my sons name on them are from Black Label Skateboards. Cow picture is from Ikea along with the black shelf and room divider. Almost all nick knacks are from Hobby Lobby. Chair is from Ikea, in-table is vintage. Lamp & mirror are from TJ Maxx. Crib bedding is from Amazon.com.

Favorite Items

Green Jack on the black shelf & the Chevron rug & bins from Target.

Advice

Research a ton before you decide on a theme. I wish I would have done that with my son & I got bored of his room easily it was themed & I hate themed!

Really cute! Love how you visually divided the space with the Ikea Expedit shelving.

Great job!

Love this room! I agree with the Author, I dislike themed rooms and the chevron vibe is rockin right now!!!! The pop of teal and orange is awesome. Can't wait to re-due my 7 year old boys room for his 8th birthday! I'm totally doing black & white!

This looks incredible! Love the alphabet bedding, and the orange curtains really tie both sides of the room together! Great use of the storage/shelves as a room divider. Great job!!!
