Description
Peaceful and Serene sailboats and hot air balloons wrap around the entire nursery from the wainscoting up. I used a soft yet cheery pattern of powder blue, baby pink and hot pink, lavender, yellow, and kiwi. Dont overlook the playful dolphins frolicking in the water! Also, her name is spelled in skwriting over the crib!
Design Inspiration
The baby's unique name was an obvious design inspiration, combined with the fact that the family owns a marina. I wanted to make it "preppy chic". The customer was so sure this third baby was a boy, so she painted the room blue and then called me in to "girl it up". So I thought, sailboats for girls...why not? We'll give them pretty patterns and add some hot air balloon too just to add some color to the top half of the sky. I pulled the colors and some of the patterns directly from the bedding.
Decorating Style
My personal nursery decorating style is sweet, peaceful, and dreamy.

Favorite Items
My favorite part of the room is the name spelled in the style of skywriting over her bed.
love the mural. what a great idea for the design.
thanks everyone. This is not my nursery it is a customer’s nursery. The room is not complete, so it really is just a picture of the mural.
Really pretty mural. The girly pastel colors you used definitely gave the marine/nautical theme a new look. The colors are a great diversion from the usual navy blue and white.
Love this….it is so cute! I would of never thought of using sailboats in a girls room.
I really like how you picked up the colors and stripes from the bedding.
Great Job! Just a suggestion….if you start the end of the bumper pads in the corner they will fit better and then you will not have two ends meeting in the middle.
Love the theme and the soft colors. Good job!
