Design Inspiration
I found some left over felt and paper in my craft closet and I used the colors to guide the party.
Decorating Style
Modern and whimsical. When I am planning a party, I will scour stores looking for inspiration. In this case, I saw the ballerina cupcake toppers and fell in love. It doesn't matter that I was planning a party for my son. They were so playful and fit the color story.
Project Details
I sewed paper together to create garland and I cut out birds out of felt. I saw a tutorial at http://www.purlbee.com/mollys-party-garland/ and instead of using fabric I used some scrap paper I had in my crafting closet.
Favorite Items
I loved the cupcakes. I found the idea in the book, What's New, Cupcake?: Ingeniously Simple Designs for Every Occasion and completely fell in love.

The ballerina cupcake toppers are cute, and it's nice you took advantage of it while your son doesn't mind yet. Next year, you wouldn't be able to get away with it. LOL. Those flower cupcakes look so pretty and yummy.
