My twins' nursery is a rustic farm theme so naturally I wanted to extend that theme into their first birthday. Once I fully committed myself to the project, I spent nearly two months pulling ideas together, crafting, and creating the perfect first birthday party for my twins. I had a blast...oh, and so did my little cuties!
My twins' nursery was the inspiration for the project, but I also used the internet, Pinterest, and Etsy to get some ideas. I absolutely love gingham, so I used red and blue gingham throughout the party. I really love how it all turned out.
I really love to mix and match design styles, but I always seem to add a rustic flair into everything I do.

My favorite items were their high chair decorations and the paper party hats because I made them (I'm a full time working Mom, so my weeknights were used for crafting). For the high chair decorations, I took fabric that I purchased from Etsy and cut 1-2" strips and tied them to a red ribbon. I just love how they turned out. The party hats took a ton of time, but I think they went perfectly with the theme.
Have fun with it. I absolutely love party planning and design, so this was right up my alley. Although my husband would have been fine with the four of us sitting in our kitchen singing Happy Birthday, he was so excited for the final product and took pride in the final outcome.
