Description
The invitation inspired most of the party with red and blue sailboats and coordinating decor. I used scrapbook paper to make the photo banner, decorate the boats, and to make cones to display snacks in. The party was from 2-4 so we had light snacks ( goldfish, fruit salad, finger sandwhiches, and candy). The polka dot balloons are always fun and brought a touch of "baby" to the party. He's only 1! We had so much fun splashing in sprinklers and baby pools and loved preparing the sailboat themed party!
Design Inspiration
I knew I wanted to do something nautical and once I found the invitation I went from there. The theme was so boyish, yet could still be made somewhat babyish for his first. I didn't want it to be too grown up.
Decorating Style
For this party I wanted everything to coordinate without going overboard. I tried to keep it somewhat simple, but carry a theme throughout.
Project Details
DIY: the boats were just plain wooden boats found at Micheals that I painted and decorated with scrapbook paper and ribbon. The photo banner was made with 12 pictures throughout the year and scrapbookpaper and ribbon. The baby snacks were displayed in rolled up scrapbook paper as well.

Favorite Items
I loved the photo banner just because it showed pictures from months 1 through 12. I also loved the nautical tote bags. They were so inexpensive and went great with the theme!
Advice
Don't be afraid to make things yourself! I was surprised at how cute some of my DIY projects turned out. I didn't think I had it in me ;)
simply adorable!
I think that sailor and patriotism are oftenly used themes. But you made it your own. I love this party theme. And I love the recurring yacht over there :)
Looks like a lot of work was put into this party. Great work the bright colors sure are fun!
