Ryo’s Airplane Room

Description

We wanted to create a calm, soothing room where our son could relax in everyday. We wanted to incorporate airplanes and vehicles because he loves them!

Design Inspiration

Since my son loves airplanes so that was the theme.  I chose a blue accent wall color to mimic the sky.  The bedding was the first piece I bought and all the colors just played off of it.

Decorating Style

Modern, clean lines, lot of DIY

Project Details

The artwork above his bed is a custom piece I painted.  It says his name in English and Japanese.

Favorite Items

I love the airplane patchwork pillow and soft Ikea rug.  It creates the perfect reading nook!

Advice

Use what you already have and customize the pieces to make it truly one-of-a-kind!

The bedding was purchased at target a couple of years ago.  Unfortunately they don’t seem to carry it anymore.  It’s a Dwell Studio for Target product so you might want to check Dwell Studio for a similar design.  Good luck!

I love the RYO artwork on the wall. It doesn’t look conventional and I love that it’s both in English and Japanese. It’s also in black and white, so it really stands out in this room of subtle colors.
