Nursery rhymes mural inspired room
Design Inspiration
I had a book of nursery rhymes and fell in love with the illustrations. I had a mural painted of some of the images that I loved. I knew I would use this room as the nursery for any more children I had, so I made the walls and furniture gender neutral. The bedding and accessories make it girly
Decorating Style
I like furniture with a traditional or vintage feel. I also like to mix old and new. They are little for so short of a time- I wanted to make the room look like a baby's nursery.
Project Details
The nesting tables next to the glider were my grandmothers and I painted them white (they were dark brown). Bedding is by Serena & Lily and actually called "Ruby" too.
Favorite Items
I love the little rocking chair. It was a gift when Ruby was born.
Advice
I knew I loved the illustrations from that nursery rhymes book and that was my starting point. After that, I found vintage feeling furniture and added accessories and bedding that didn't fight with the mural. Too much in this room could make it look way too busy!
What beautiful nursery! Can you tell me the make/model of the crib? Thank you!
that is one great looking wall mural!
who did the mural on the wall?
Personally, I think that the vintage furniture you have here really went well with the fairy tale mural you have, and the feminine touches you’ve added. I so love this room.
I’ve always envied people who could paint, did you do the mural yourself??? I think that the room feels sooo light and relaxing that it’s really perfect for your little Ruby, and because you’ve put in something that you love, it really showed in this room.
Love the newport cottages furniture combined with the nursery rhymes mural! It is going to be so much fun to read bedtime stories in there!
the mural is magical. i love that you tied in something that you loved so much. And the ruby bedding by S & L is a favorite too.
