Description
When my family moved to a new home last summer, I took the opportunity to evolve what had been "Quinlan's Yellow Submarine Nursery" (also on Project Nursery) into a room that would grow with my son as far into childhood as possible. I incorporated many of the decorative items, most furniture, as well as the overall color scheme from his original nursery, but toned down the wall color to gray and added a black and white "base" to anchor the multi-colored accents.
Design Inspiration
The "rainbow" color scheme, inspired by the Yellow Submarine movie poster hanging over the fireplace, guided many of the decorative choices for this room.

Favorite Items
The multi-colored dog Roman shades are my favorite item - because after nearly a year, my son still talks about them and notices something new about the pattern on a regular basis! They also do a great job of darkening his room for naptime, for which I am very thankful :).
Advice
Take design inspiration from the architectural style (and age) of your home, the place where you live, and your unique family history to create a very special room for your little one!
