Pretty in Pink Shower on a Budget

Description

I was on a tight budget before the arrival of my little girl so I went for a simple 'pink' theme shower. My best friend hosted it and helped with the planning. As I had so much free time prior to the shower (and being a bit crafty) I hand made everything (apart from a few table scatters). Everyone came dressed with a little sprinkle of pink.

Design Inspiration

I was inspired to have a girly pink shower as I knew I was having a girl :) (very excited)

Decorating Style

Simple, handmade :)

Project Details

As I was short on money at the time, I made everything at home, with some help from my bestie! We hand made beautiful pink /butterfly invites (not pictured) and she also helped me label the glasses and the favors. I made all the games- pin the dummy (hand drawn and painted) finish the nursery rhyme game was hand drawn and coloured by me and then photo copied, 'how well do you know the mummy-to-be' hand drawn too. I made the 'wishes for baby' cards, each were unique using different sheets of designer printed paper. For the 'love notes' (that hang on the tree) I collected paint swatches from a hardware store in different shades of pink and glued a pretty sheet of butterfly paper to each. and hung them from ribbon. for some decoration I glued my baby bump photos to sheets of shimmery pink paper and we hung some pink lanterns. we also had the dvd of my 3d ultrasound playing on the tv which was lovely.

Favorite Items

I really liked how the 'tree of love' turned out, we found the branch close to home and just stuck some cheap fake flowers to it. I also really love the 'wishes for baby' cards and the 'love notes' as they have such lovely meaning now and I should mention the beautiful cake that was made by a family member (designed by me).

Advice

You don't need to go over board (with money) to have a wonderful day and to have lovely things :)

Simple and pretty. And I love the few very personalized details, like the tree of love and the baby bump photos! And oh, that cake with the baby in a flower topping looks really cute!
