Pretty in Pink Nursery

Description

Annabelle's Nursery- A bright, airy, fun space in a space challenged room!

Design Inspiration

I was inspired by one of the  original Project Nursery posts "Modern Baby Blue".  I LOVED the pattern on the wall and knew I needed to replicate it for my baby!

Decorating Style

Traditional, with a modern twist.  I love bright, airy spaces.

Project Details

Annabelle's nursery is a very small (10x10) room directly off our master bedroom and while I knew I had to make a statement with the wall, I didn't want everything to feel overwhelming.  So I settled on one bold wall, while keeping everything else neutral- ivories, whites, with hints of pinks and blues in the linens and wall decor.

In this small space, it was tempting to pick furniture and try to make it work without considering the scale.  Instead, I kept hunting for items that were the perfect scale and fit compactly, but functionally into the room.

The wall was actually easier than it looks- we followed the directions from 'Modern Baby Blue'- first all walls were painted ivory, then we used Frog Tape to tape the square pattern- after the first angle was placed we measured every 12", marking and taping as we went along.  You get in the groove after doing a few of them... luckily the room was almost a perfect square and we ended up with evenly sized squares on each end!

Crib- Munire 'Chloe' from USA Baby

Nightstand, Bookcase, and Dresser- 'Jenny Lind Collection' from Land of Nod

Mobile and 'ABC', '1,2,3' Prints- Etsy

Rug- Pottery Barn Kids

Crib Bedding- Serena and Lily- Nursery Basics Collection

Curtains and Burp Cloths- Made by Grandma with Serena and Lily Fabric

Chair- Best Chairs in Chocolate with White Piping

Favorite Items

The wall!  And, after that, the bookcase.   Love the turned leg detail.

Advice

Don't be afraid to try a bold wall pattern!  It's not as hard as it looks :)  I loved every minute of designing this room and have loved every minute we've spent in it since- totally worth the work!

I agree with CraftyMom, any rating less than a 5 is undeserved!  I’m jealous of you because of this room!

You know what, I’ve always thought that bright or light colors are the best for small rooms, but you proved that you could use a darker color and it would still look spacious.  It is a lot of work, but it really shows the love you have.  Great room.

Love love love this room!  Especially coordinating the rug pattern to the wall. It feels so clean and fresh, without being too babyish.
