Pretty in Pink and Gold Nursery

Description

I have designed a nursery suited for our princess on the way. I took elements of design that I love and played around with them to make them child friendly.

Design Inspiration

My inspiration started with my color palette, pink and gold. I wanted something very subtle with not much of a contrast. We mixed and matched a lot of different furniture pieces, most are not from children stores as we would like her to grow into the room. The room also draws inspiration from Sex and the City, mixing high and low pieces.

Decorating Style

My decorating style is definitly girly with a fashion twist. I love incorporating my favourite fashion houses into my room decorating.

Project Details

The paint we used was Natura by Benjamin Moore - Dream Whip. The stencil was purchased from Etsy and I used Martha Stewart's metallic paint in Froth.

The crib was purchased locally but we had it repainted. The dresser is from Chintz & Company. The rug from Pottery Barn kids. The chair is from Target. The art prints are from Etsy.

I DIY'd the lamp, glueing silk flowers to an existing lamp shade.

Favorite Items

My favourite item has to be the art prints, they pull the room together.

Advice

My advice would be to go with your instincts, you and the baby will be spending the most time and you will want a space that is soothing and calm for both of you.
