Playhouse Makeover

Description

A silver lining to the current shelter in place situation is the beautiful weather we’ve experienced! I decided to take advantage of the sunshine and give the kids’ playhouse a makeover. The playhouse is called the Victorian Mansion Playhouse, but I purchased mine from a local company in Oklahoma called Patriot Play Sets (they travel outside the State.) The company also assembled the playhouse for a very reasonable price which I HIGHLY recommend!
In my opinion, the house is super cute exactly the way it comes, but since my indoor and outdoor colors are black & white, I decide to give it a paint job to match my  furniture.

I started with a basic cedar primer from Sherwin Williams. It took the whole gallon. After it dried, I chose SW Alabaster as the actual color.
The door and planters are SW Copen Blue (as you can see, it’s green, not blue) and a sample size was plenty.

My dad made the planters and shutters and the kids and I painted them.

This project took me a little longer than expected, but I’m loving the outcome. This has been one of the best investments for the kids and even though the makeover was time consuming, I’m so happy with the final product!
