Baby nursery for little girl
Design Inspiration
Inspiration was trying to find something both the husband and I could agree on!
Decorating Style
My husband isn't a fan of the modern/contemporary decorating style, like I am. I really wanted white nursery furniture, but he insisted against it. Since I knew he would win, I decided that the room must be pink to bring make it feminine!
Project Details
The room has a mini closet in it (behind the chair) so we were lacking a real closet. We used an old shelf unit I had, painted it dark espresso, and added some hanger bars to it! Wallah! Also, the artwork was made in Adobe Illustrator by me, and they matched my baby shower invitations! Also, as some have mentioned in the comments, PLEASE ANCOR ALL FURNITURE TO WALLS TO PREVENT CHILDREN DEATH
Favorite Items
I LOVE the rocking horse... it was handmade by family friends of ours!
Advice
To convert the shelf... My husband purchased the wooden rod and inserts from Home Depot. They are the common pieces that you make a regular closet bar out of.

I am no longer positive the place you are getting your info, however great topic.
I must spend a while finding ouut ore or understanding more.
Thank you for great information I used to be searching
for this information for my mission.
We are using this idea to provide temporary storage for our infant. Because it isn’t permanent, we didn’t want to drill into our new bookcase. I purchased a strong tension bar for a curtain. Then I cut two squares from a non-slip carpet pad. I secured the tension rod to the bookcase and put the non-slip pads between the tension rod and the wood. It holds perfectly, and no holes in the wood!

Cute nursery! We did this same idea in my daughter’s nursery with a tv cabinet. http://623designs.tumblr.com/post/24885840030/little-as-little-girl-room
Thanks for answering questions. :) What an adorable room! Really cute mix of traditional and modern with the adorable art. If you could share where you got the art that would be great. (hope I didn’t miss it!)
[…] Hi again! I cannot believe that in twelve weeks, my first kiddo will be here. Time is flying by! We start our six weeks of hospital classes tonight and I’m very excited! In my last post, I talked about how I wanted to do a weekly craft project. I accomplished it with a little a lot of help from my husband. Now my first project of the year didn’t have a lot of steps, but it was on my to do list. One of the downfalls to our home is the lack of storage. I found this project on Pinterest and finally knew what I was going to do with that old bookcase I’ve had since high school. Not only would it bring new life to my bookshelf but it would have a great purpose! Here’s a link to where I found the project: http://projectnursery.com/projects/pink-nursery/. […]
I have revised the post. Thanks for your concern
Yes, it is anchored to the wall. We do not wish to have any accidents.
Sorry, didn’t realize this page was even receiving comment and questions. Revised post to answer the questions. Thanks for taking the time to point that out
Yes, exactly. The same hardware kit used to install a closet bar.
you can also buy the bars and hardware that just screw into the wood to hold the bar. go to your local hardware store and tell them what you are needing and they will hook you up :)
I believe there is a tool that makes assorted size circular holes. The bar can probably be picked up at Lowes or Home Depot.
Why bother posting this if you aren’t going to answer questions ho’how to’ questions!
The need to ANCHOR THIS TO THE WALL is paramount and your post should be updated saying so. Little ones eventually crawl and pull themselves up. This bookshelf would kill a child if it were to fall forward. Two children were killed recently this way and it breaks my heart to hear of something so tragic that could be avoided. A great project, excellent post but please add anchoring because this is getting repinned by others who don’t know. I hope your closet is safely anchored in your home and congratulations on your daughter.
Great idea I love the closet/bookcase. Did you anchor it to the wall? My kids would have knocked it down.
What are the dimensions of your shelf closet?
how did you make the hanger bars?
This is such a sweet and charming room. I think the colors are warm and feminine, and it gives the room such a soothing effect.
Switch to space saver hangers and you will have even more room for hanging clothes.
