Pink and Green Girl’s Nursery

Description

I wanted to create a nursery that was feminine and bright, but not too "babyish".  We also wanted to stick to a budget and completed a few DIY projects for the room.  My mom was a huge help and did the sewing for the curtains and crib skirt and helped with the wall stencil!

Design Inspiration

I found the fabric for the room first and used that as my inspiration. I loved the idea of using pink and green in the room and wanted something cheery and bright, as well as girly!  When I saw this fabric, I loved it instantly and knew it was perfect for Emma's room!

Decorating Style

Bright and cheery!  I love mixing old with new.

Project Details

Crib Skirt and Curtains--Custom made (fabric from local shop Tassels)

Dresser--yard sale purchase that we painted white

Round Mirrors--yard sale purchases that I repainted

Bird mobile and art above dresser were DIY projects & the pink and white chevron blanket was a handmade gift from my sister

Favorite Items

My favorite item in the room is the pink and white chevron blanket that my sister made for my daughter--It's just so beautiful and special!  But I also love how the stenciled wall turned out.

Advice

This room was created on a budget.  A lot of the items for this room were either DIY projects or yard sale finds, but we did spend a little extra on the fabric for the curtains and the crib skirt.  Stenciling the wall behind the crib took some time but gave a big impact without spending a lot of money.

What is that wall paint color? Pretty.
I also have a DIY bird mobile, same birds but thicker branches and the bird are strung from each level of sticks/braches..pretty.

I love love love this nursery! I’ve been browsing nursery themes for a friend of mine whose due in August. This is my favorite by far! I love that the neutral wall color allows for pops of color in the accents. And I love the eclectic style; perfect blend of classic, modern, mid-century, global chic… funky! Lots of patterns and textures for baby’s developing brain. And of course it’s a bonus that this can be done on a reasonable budget. Kudos!

I’m pretty much obsessed with all things textiles and if I’m not mistaken, I recognize that curtain fabric as Braemore’s Emperor’s Garden in Blossom and the fun lattice pattern on the crib skirt as Braemore’s Secret Garden in Blossom. Here are links to both:

P.S. if you like these colors but want something a little more whimsical, I’m also in love with Braemore’s Maneka Cherry Blossom which features some fun animal imagery, also perfect for a nursery I think!
