Pink and Blue Nursery

Description

I wanted to create a warm, happy and serene nursery for my second child.  My first child was a boy in which we created a more modern nursery so for my little girl I decided to go with something sweet and vintage in feel.

Design Inspiration

I found fabric for the shades and that was the jumping off point.  But, I find inspiration from everywhere!  Design magazines, blogs, Pinterest and Project Nursery.

Decorating Style

I usually lean towards the traditional but I like to add hits of modern with small but integral elements like lighting.

Project Details

We found a bunch of items from etsy- one of my favorite go-to sources!

sites include- LeoLittleLion, Serenstitches, ButterflyOrbs, OliveOwlArt, aletafae

Rug, Senagalese baskets and crib bedding from Serena & Lily

Clock- Land of Nod

Favorite Items

I love the curtains since they were the jumping off point for everything.  But, the rug - although maybe not the most practical in the future!- is my favorite item.  My son as well as the dog love curling up on it and we spend a lot of quality family time on that thing.  It's soft and lovely and it really pulled the room together.

Advice

Have fun with decorating and try not to take it too seriously.  If it comes from your heart you will always love spending time in it.

Thanks Amber. I'm so sorry but I have no idea what the name of the fabric is!! I looked up wonderful pearl online and it's similar but I don't think it's the same fabric.
