Description
As a baby planner one of my favorite things to do is plan a baby shower. I get to bring romantic visions to life. I don’t often get carte blanche to just do what I like, but this time was special.
Armed only with the colors of the nursey and the knowledge that the new arrival would be a bouncing baby boy. I went to work, and what evolved was a fun french inspired fete’ befitting a petit garcon…..
Design Inspiration
Many factors played into the design inspiration for this shower. The mother to be's favorite color is blue, and the nursery was going to be baby blue, taupe and green. Her favorite flowers hydrangea's and she loves la madeline. We wanted something rustic and femenine. We decided to go with a french inspred themed brunch that would not only embody her design style but keep it girly and very chic.
Decorating Style
Classic, Rustic, Whimsical, yet Refined.
Project Details
We used fantastic wooden berry baskets from Pink Lemonade Party Shop as well as hand stamped wooden cutlery. The baskets were filled with garden sprinkles from the potting shed and La Occitane en Provence soaps and lotions to keep within the french theme. Clarislynn formerly Imprintz Photography captured all the details amazingly. Dried lavender in vintage bottles were placed throughout the venue. French macaroons from La Boite cafe accented the dessert table perfectly as well as madelines and beniegets with a bunting that read petite garcon. The buffet was an assortment of fresh fruits and rustic french breads, as well as omlettes made to order by chef Beau Been perfect for a brunch shower. The florals were hydrangeas, peonies, rannaculus, garden roses, and freesia in vintage sea glass vessels and vintage mason jars. We even did a special place setting for mommy to be with the ultimate french baby accessory the Vulli Sophie la giraffe!
Favorite Items
My favorite item for this project had to be the custom 28 ft burlap and lace runner, It took up my whole living room to make it but the result was perfect for tying together the two banquest tables into one long showpiece.
Advice
My advice is to work with what you have got. You can easily make a lovely runner out of burlap fabric from the local craft store. Mason Jars can be found at grocery stores. Throw in some seasonal flowers and you have a chic vintage look that can work with any color palette.

I love it! Wish you has close-up shots of the lovely party details, though, like the giveaway baskets, hand-stamped the wooden cutlery, etc.
Thank you so much! There were little pops of it throughout inkeeping with the theme, but not so much that it hit you over the head with it :)
The toile on the chairs gives the party so much character.
