Description
Hardworking parents, both lawyers, enlisted the help of my design studio to create a safe calm retreat for their daughter on the way! The results; a sweet serene space fit for a Boston baby! Beautiful photography by Jessica Delaney Photography
Design Inspiration
The inspiration for the room came from the mom; she loved pale violet and gray, and mixing the two we were able to create a space her daughter could grow with. As renovating in the city is not always easy, we knew we had to pick something that would last!
Decorating Style
Calm, serene and sophisticated... this decorating scheme is sure to last from baby to teen, and all the years in between!
Project Details
Crib, changing table, rug, decals, black out drapery and bedding are from Pottery Barn kids. Sconce from Pottery Barn Teen. Rockers from Babies R Us. Mobile from Etsy. Toy boxes from Land of Nod. Book ledges from Ikea.
Favorite Items
The rug! The blend of jute and chenille make this rug super soft to lay on, but flat enough to wheel a baby doll carriage or a train set!
Advice
Keep it simple, don't over do it, and choose a wall color that could last the years and multiple decorating schemes! And above all, safety first! Anything installed on the wall over the crib is unsafe, and bumpers should be left out too! Decals are a baby friendly choice! Your crib should be your baby's safe haven!
