Peaceful Yellow and Gray Girl’s Nursery
I wanted a nursery that was simple and calm, yet not too girly girl looking. I used the bright yellow accents to add a pop of color onto the gray walls.

Going bold doesn’t mean coating the walls with neon. Creamy colored walls are the backdrop for bursts of fuchsia.
Balancing sophistication (toile fabric and classic furniture) with childhood must haves (bookshelf, bedtime reading and plenty of room for toys and play) ensures the room will be age-appropriate both now and later.
We wanted something that was equally sophisticated and comforting, feminine but not too girlie for our princess-to-be.
I had many different ideas and possible themes for our baby’s nursery (just check out my Pinterest Boards and you will see for yourself!) I DID know that I wanted to use peach and coral colours for a girl’s room though, so once we found out we were having a baby girl that is where we started. From there I got a few inspirational pieces (such as the image of the little girl eating the peach and the pair of little ceramic baby shoes) and I collected items that we already had from my childhood and from around our house (such as the quilt, the cradle, the ballerina music box, my knit and stuffed animals friends etc.) and her room started taking shape. Once I started my various handmade and DIY projects her peaches and creme, feminine antique nursery with birdy accents really started coming to life. Most of the projects in this nursery are handmade DIY projects and lots of the furniture we got for free, or on Kijiji, and re-vamped them to freshen them up and make them fit with the nursery. This was definitely a nursery on a budget, the retail value of the larger items in the room would have come to around $1600 but we only spent $200 on all of those items!! So hopefully this nursery is inspiring and an example that you can create a really cute nursery on a budget!
Sierra and friends had a great time at a Thomas the Tank Engine inspired birthday party hosted at the Children’s Museum of Denver.
The theme of the room is a Native American forest with a river running through it-note the turquoise as a representative of water. The additional decor theme is the triangular and circular shapes. I wanted the room to be fun and inspiring without using pastels or too “babyish” of a decor. I wanted it to be versatile, have pops of color with different textures and dimension popping out of the walls, all the while on a limited budget. There are many different natural textures to feel in this room – the real branches on tree limb rack, the real wool blanket, the bumpy ceramic tile that looks like stone in the lizard plaque, and the real leather in the mobile. I have a deep love for nature, animals and geometrical figures. The main color of the room is teal turquoise with secondary splashes of orange, yellow, and even more subtle greys. In some of the pictures the blue looks just blue, but it is in fact a bright teal. The wall is a faint Tuscany yellow but since it’s wall paper I hesitated to paint over it…the only thing yet I have to complete is paint the walls, add a rug and perhaps get some different curtains…the ones I have there came with the house.
We worked on a budget and DIY most of the elements, the room that we started with did not have lights besides a very small one right next to the entry door, so my husband and father-in-law worked on adding can lights, book shelves and closet. I was in charge of the smaller projects being my first ones the elephant lamp along with the “K” light. The most meaningful project has to be the bathroom door, I painted a section of North America and South America and added hearts to where Santiago, Chile and California, USA are so we can show our little baby Peanut where Mom and Dad are from =]
The very last project I worked on for the room was the cardboard name sign on top of the crib, since we didn’t know the sex of our Baby, I waited until after delivery, I had already set a side a big box that I was planning on using, but that same week I had planned to start with the sign my Cousin send us the tall giraffe, so I used that box instead, which allowed me to make the sign a lot bigger than my initial plan.
I wanted to create a more modern, clean, and sensory-happy nursery for my boy/girl twins!
Our obsession with geometric patterns and vibrant colors were our focal point in this nursery along with adding an arrangement of old and new. We were aiming for a calm, relaxing room that could be comfortable for this growing family, designating specific colors to each twin to reflect their gender but still using the same print of fabric to show they came as a pair!

A breakfast to welcome our little magic elf “Sam” back for the Christmas season! The kids were so excited to host a breakfast for our Elf! They were so excited when we set the table the night before to see if he would show up.. and he did!
This was our toddler’s 2nd birthday party! It was all about balloons! He loves balloons so when we were thinking of a theme we knew that this had to be it! Some of the pictures were taken during the day and some at night so the picture quality varies…
We wanted a happy, fun and playful room for our sweet boy to enjoy.
It was totally time for my 5 year old daughter to come out of the baby look in her bedroom. I decided to paint the wall pink stripes because I love the look and she is such a girly-girl!
Intimate baby shower lunch at the beautiful Delamar Hotel in Southport, CT using Lavender & Gray nursery color palette.
This room was designed for a little man who had just moved with his family to New York from San Francisco. He had a passion for sports in general and especially for baseball. We wanted to follow this theme and yet keep the decor very simple and elegant.
We were called to design a modern nursery for a baby girl and the design starting points were an orange monkey wallpaper and a see through crib. This is all we had to completely transform a guests bedroom into a sweet and fun nest.
We wanted to create a fun nursery for our son. I wanted it to be bright and cheery. I did not want to follow a theme, but more colors. I wanted the colors to be something he could keep for a long time. I thought the stripes on one wall would help the room not look so much like a box and they are stimulating for a baby. He lays on his changing pad and coos at them everyday!!
