A Simply, Lovely Baby Shower

First baby, first grandchild, first niece… this little one was already spoiled in the womb.  My amazing sister Evonne knew right away she wanted to plan my baby shower and after months of her dealing with my craziness the day finally arrived.  I wanted it to be light, airy and pink!  I usually shy away from too much pink but in this case it was just perfect.  We took the design inspiration from the invitations, Pinterest & Etsy and threw in some DIY projects, which made it so personal and beautiful!

Oliver’s Perfect Nursery

We put more time and thought into this nursery than I thought possible! After a two and a half year journey ending in fertility treatments, I think I was so overjoyed to finally be pregnant that I felt like every detail had to be perfect! And it is!! :) With the artistic talents of my husband’s mom and grandma, we were even lucky enough to get a custom mural and some excellent design advice on the way, too!

Le Petit World Traveler

To create a relaxing and welcoming space for our little one that reflected a life of traveling and discovery (those from the past and those to come). I wanted to incorporate objects from around the world as well as books from my childhood (in Spanish) and accents from Brussels (my husband’s home town). As we often have family/friends visiting from overseas it was a must to have a daybed! We love the one we found and the six large storage baskets underneath will surely come handy for toys, linens and diapers.

Remington’s Room

I worked really diligently on this nursery because I wanted to create a space for my son that is colorful, enjoyable and relaxing to be in, and that would foster his sensory development and creativity.  I also wanted it to be able to transition easily to toddler and childhood, and to not start out too babyish.  I guess that’s a pretty tall order, but I am pleased with how it came out.  We tried to keep the budget very small, and most of the furniture was either given to us or repurposed from some other part of the house.

Veda Jane’s Carnival Nursery

From day one I just knew that I wanted a carnival nursery for my baby girl! My husband and I have always loved carnivals, and in a lot of ways I feel like we are still two big kids so it seemed perfect and fitting to create a fun carnival inspired nursery for our Veda Jane! We had an extremely tight budget to work with so everything you see here was either done by hand or vintage finds that we repurposed! We spent less than $300 on this nursery!
