Cassidy’s Whimsical Aqua and Pink Nursery
Baby girl’s nursery.
Baby girl’s nursery.
My husband is from the Caribbean so I wanted a beautiful ocean theme for our son. This room was previously an indoor greenhouse (hence all the windows) so the floor is slightly angled and has a tile floor. This was completely redone and I installed carpet and lots of elbow grease.
This is our nursery for our first baby! As soon as I found out we were having a girl, my ideas stared churning! I knew I didn’t want traditional pink, pink and more pink…especially since one of my favorite colors is Coral. So I had to think outside the box.
When we found out we were having a little boy, we just knew we had to do a baseball-themed nursery! My husband is a huge Yankees fan, so we chose a gray, blue, and white color scheme and used vintage baseball touches and artwork throughout. We chose furniture pieces that could last through several theme changes as our child ages and has his own opinion, and pieces that provided plenty of flexible storage, like a dresser as a storage table and canvas cubes in a bookcase along with wall shelves for more books and knick knacks.
This is a super easy craft that you can make to give as a gift or hang in your own baby’s nursery. Wrap a paper mache letter in the yarn of your choice and secure with hot glue as you wrap.
A nursery for our first baby girl that would also function as a guest room (or mom and dad’s room while the master functions as the guest room) for all of our expected visitors.

This is our 3rd and final baby and our first little girl. I was so excited to go all out girlie for this one! That is why the main color is pink!
I designed this nursery before my daughter was born, so it had to be gender neutral. I wanted it to be clean and modern, and filled with things that are meaningful, such as the handmade shelves and mobile, special items from my childhood, and a little bit of Star Wars.
A nature-inspired nursery for a baby girl with vintage, modern, and handmade touches.
Abe is our fourth baby, so we were out of extra bedrooms. The nursery is actually one end of our oversized master bedroom, separated with curtains hung from the ceiling. I wanted the nursery to coordinate well with the other half of the room but still be fun and colorful for a baby.
This is the nursery I created for my baby gir.
This is my son’s blue and yellow nursery! My husband and I spent many, many hours working on it, and are so happy with how it turned out!

I was thrilled how this ballerina party turned out for my 3 year old daughter Stella’s birthday. It was a party full of relatively simple, inexpensive DIY decor projects that made for a big impact. Handmade ballet slippers, crepe paper roses, and a tutu birthday cake were the stars of the show (in addition to the little ballerina herself, of course!) You can get all the details here on my blog Design Improvised.
Reid’s blue and green nursery is a collection of old and new. The outfit I came home from the hospital in as a baby hangs framed on the wall, an antique rocking chair sits on the floor, and in the corner is the chair my best friend and I painted in seventh grade. The wrought iron crib, a big comfy chair, and the changing table were all new purchases. One of my favorite things in the room are the canvas silhouettes my mom painted of my husband and me when we were children.
This party was styled for a friend whose daughter turned 1 in December.
I wanted something different just as any expectant parent does so instead of painting an accent wall or adding wall paper I decided on a neutral paint and have the decor bring the room to life.
