A simple superhero-themed 4th birthday celebration at Josh’s preschool.
A construction themed room that wasn’t too childish so that it could be enjoyed when my son was older too. I incorporated some of my Father’s trucks from his business to make it more personal. I wanted things to be fun and I could easily add to as he got older and it doesn’t need to necessarily “match”.
Designed Jack’s nursery to be bright, modern, and fun! A room that is visually stimulating and warm.
I wanted something modern and not something you don’t see every day. I found two graffiti artists here in Austin who were willing to do pieces for me. I based everything around their work. One piece is a baby DJ spinning records, so my bedding is hi-fi stereo equipment with teal and black accents. I framed and added some pictures of animals with boom boxes that I found online. Put up some skateboard shelves and boom…Jameson had a room.
Baby Boy Nursery
Decorating a little girl’s room is absolutely endless — flowers, butterflies, bows…. If there’s an idea out there, we wanted to design with it. So, when we learned we were having a baby girl we knew we wanted to have pink, but we didn’t want to over throw the room with complete pink. Since we also love the color gray as well, the idea was to combine both colors with a white ribbon.
We turned an upstairs office room into a nursery for our son.
My son turned two this past weekend, so we hosted a construction themed party for all of his buddies and their parents. We decorated with black and yellow tissue tassels, balloons, coloring pages and a mountain backdrop. Food included a chocolate mudslide cake, tool box veggie tray, pretzel lumber, rock cookies, dirt cups, and a bacon jalapeno cheeseball mountain. The kids played with sensory tables full of trucks, rice and split peas, knocked down a demolition city made of boxes, and took pictures in our dump truck photo booth. It was a blast!
This room was designed by Rylie’s Mom, Courtney and created around her eclectic modern style, her love for owls and a few sentimental gifts she received at her shower including an owl painting from a family member.
The tree is hand painted. I also hand painted 3-dimensional flowers to match the color scheme. The flowers, rhinestones and glitter paint added an extra sparkle and feminine touch to the tree. The owls are bejeweled with Swarovski crystals. The beautiful damask bedding is from Carousel Designs. The modern furniture and beautiful rug is from Pottery Barn.
Photo 1 – Introducing Baby Rylie!! I love that they used the mural as a backdrop for Rylie’s first photo shoot.
We created a serene, shabby chic baby suite for our daughter, Bianca.
We took this 1/2 story attic space from 1950s/1960s wood paneling to a modern nursery for our baby boy.
