We wanted something clean and simple with just pops of colors against browns and whites. When we found out we were having a girl, we tried to stick to pinks and greens. We wanted the room to feel organic and have touches of nature with just small hints of whimsy. Since this room is our Master Retreat, we added french doors to create some privacy and a sound barrier for Naia. We also added built-ins around the fireplace so Naia could have a “closet” and room for storage.

A vintage glam nursery for our first born little girl that we wanted to be sweet and feminine yet cozy and inviting.

This Neutral and super Elegant Twins Nursery was one of my favorites because clients don’t usually request rooms as opulent as this.  The large damask print wallpaper and gold and ivory crib bedding were reminiscent of Old Hollywood and perfectly accented by the crystal accents in the lighting and dresser knobs.
 

This mommy was insistent on having a nursery that was clean and simple.  I suggested Gray with pops of pink and she was sold once she saw the Chevron Bedding on my Inspiration board.  What fun it was to do the room installation without her there and how special it was to surprise her once it was all completed! Love this simple, modern room.

Superhero inspired 1st Birthday party

We decided to keep the gender of our first bundle of joy a surprise, so the main goal of designing the nursery space was to keep it “gender neutral.”  Besides that, we really wanted a space that was bright, fun and not “babyish,” so our child could grow into it as the years passed.
 

Nursery for our little boy Henrik who’s due in April.

This nursery was designed and decorated not knowing the gender of our baby. We used various shades of grey with splashes of bright yellow to make the room lively and inviting.

My son turned one and they say the first birthday is the birthday for the mother. Well, I took advantage of it! I wanted to give him a special first birthday.
In our country they don’t make dessert tables and the decoration doesn’t go beyond balloons en screaming colours. I wanted to make something original. Project Nursery have been a great inspiration!

The room is gray and white with warm yellow and bright aqua accents.  We had no real theme beyond wanting a happy and comfortable space for our baby girl.  At some point, the room took on a life of its own and it’s now filled with a variety of owls and daisies.

My husband painted a two-tone gray chevron pattern on the main wall. The crib converts into a toddler bed. The dresser came from Ikea and my husband sanded it down (was birch) and stained it Espresso to match the crib.

Without knowing our baby’s gender beforehand, we wanted to create something gender neutral and loved the idea of gray and turquoise.

A nursery for our first baby, Lyla, who came unexpectedly early, so friends and family pitched in with executing my ideas for the nursery after she arrived.  It’s a mix of patterns (floral, ABC, elephant prints, lace) and colors (aqua, yellow, orange, pink) that somehow all match.

When I started planning out Baby G’s nursery, I knew I wanted something modern, clean, and original.  The first part to come together was the crib and dresser because I loved the clean, modern look of the furniture. Seriously, who knew there were 7,000 different types of cribs to choose from?
Still without a “theme” of sorts, I went in search of bedding to give me some ideas.  When I found the skyline set, I knew it was exactly what I had been looking for.  The rest came together rather easily.  I had the 10 ft. Chicago skyline custom made to fit the wall, and that serves as the focal point when someone enters the room.  I then picked a couple of accent colors to work with the grey and immediately found the “Golden Slumbers” lyrics to hang on the wall.  Side note: It’s funny, but I’ve known since I was very young that those lyrics would one day hang on the wall of my baby’s nursery.  It has been my all-time favorite song since I was a little girl and I love that they are the focal point of the other wall.
The rest was just a matter of searching Etsy/Pinterest/Interwebs for cute ideas.  I am particularly fond of the airplanes, which are actually wall hooks, because in person it looks very 3D.  The only things left to do are to hang the mobile from the ceiling (I don’t like it on the crib) and paint the wooden “C” initial a light grey.
I’ve never been one for interior decorating, and I didn’t think I’d enjoy putting together something like a nursery as much as I did.  But I must say I’m quite proud of the finished product.

We knew we didn’t want an actual theme and just wanted to design based off colors.  We wanted his room to be simple,  unique, and masculine.

I started painting and choosing items before I knew the gender because I didn´t want  a very girly nursery, turquoise color is my favourite with white and then just added colorful details.

This party was a super fun get together for my son and his baby buddies. We had Angel food cake, Neapolitan cupcakes with strawberry filling, mini sandwiches and chocolate covered strawberries. Of course cheerio cups and fruit were plentiful for the kiddos as well.  Each kid received a valentine card along with a box of valentine message hearts.  Overall it was a fun, playful, action packed event!
