Evie and Eliza’s Modern Twin Nursery

The tan walls were already there, so I did 3 coats of chalkboard paint on the main wall.  We used Ikea Gulliver cribs (love these!) and I made my own crib skirts.  I took a small table, spray painted it bright pink, and added some new hardware to add a pop of color in the center of the room.  The crib quilts are from a lovely woman on etsy (Kristin Bradford) who designed the elephant fabric herself!  She was great to work with and create coordinating quilts for each girl.  The silver shelf in the corner was my friend Heidi’s.  I changed the hardware to match the night stand and used pink wrapping paper and spray adhesive to line the backs of the shelf.  The curtains and rug are from Crate and Barrel.  I found a tutorial on Pinterest to make the paper pinwheels for the mobiles.  I hung them with fishline and a small eye hook.  We just had to raise them last week after Eliza successfully ate one of the pinwheels!  Oooops! I used teal and yellow spray paint on a few random knickknacks throughout the room to help tie in the colors everywhere.  I also made yellow yarn pom pom flowers to put in a vase (another Pinterest tutorial!)  Each girl got a yarn wrapped letter for their name (Evie gets the pink flower, Eliza the purple).  I had the owl pillow on the rocking chair in Finn’s room, but made the kite on a pink Ikea pillow cover with felt and embroidery thread.  The moon light is another Ikea find!  So is the dresser… new hardware makes the hand me down changing table and the dresser look like they go together.  All of the hardware was from Hobby Lobby.  My favorite piece of art on the wall above their changing table is one big brother Finn did.  I gave him yellow, pink and white paint and let him do whatever!  Sorry this is short… twins are climbing on the printer!  Better late than never…

Noah’s navy blue and white nursery

We wanted to make the nursery a place cheerful room full of love for our Mr. Noah. We were on a relatively tight budget, so a lot of DIY and TLC went into many of the decor items (sewing stripes on the Ikea curtains, making a bedskirt {not pictured}, a homemade mobile over the changing table, DIY art over the crib, sewing a fabric bunting for over the closet…). The result is a room we are happy to call Noah’s!

nadia’s bright & thrifted nursery.

I wanted a bright and girly nursery for Nadia.  I also knew I wanted something she wouldn’t grow out of too quickly.  My top two choices were vibrant/ethnic and  rustic/burlap/cream so I combined the two.  My jumping off point was Dena Fishbein’s “Kumari Garden” line. I used bright colors, natural elements, and lots of yard sale and thrift finds.  You can read more on my blog www.thetastefulllife.com.

Reese’s Hot Pink & Black Damask Nursery

After 2 boys we are expecting our first girl…..Yes, there is alot of PINK but  this is the first shade of pink in our house in 10 years so I don’t mind  ;)
We used the same furniture we had in both our boy’s nurseries we just sanded it down and painted the pieces black. I love the pink and black contrast!
$$
The chandelier was $100, no cost on the furniture, the fabric for the bedding cost $100, the paint was $75, crown molding was $45 and my husband put it up, black paint was $35 to paint the furniture and molding, most wall decor was from Hobby Lobby and I used 40% coupons, the closet organizer was on sale at Target for $40 plus the 4 pink canvas boxes were $24. As you can see, the room did not cost all that much money. The most expensive piece was the glider from Buy Buy Baby (it was a gift) $400-we used a coupon and bought the floor model for an extra discount!

Serene Cherry Blossom Nursery

We wanted to create a space that was calming and comfortable for our new baby, something that was appropriate for a little one but could easily grow with her.  We wanted to make sure there were a lot of organized storage options because the room lacks a closet.  While we wanted the room to be girly, we also wanted to avoid it becoming over-the-top pink.  And most importantly for us, we needed to put together a nice space on a budget!  IKEA to the rescue!

With sugar and affection: Teresa’s elegant and eclectic nursery

Teresa’s nursery is whimsical and sweet without being too girly. I tried to use different textures and patterns, delicate images and references. We were on a limited budget, but it’s incredible how much you can do! The painting was done by my mother-in-law, the dresser refinished by my husband, and lots of DIY projects. Each project made us so proud! It took time, energy and love to make this dream nursery for baby Teresa.
