Description
Organic! DIY projects using organic fabrics and some second hand furniture.
Design Inspiration
It started from the cushion fabric that I saw online at Funky Fabrix and grew from there. I also wanted to use organic fabrics.
Project Details
Maxon's name on the wall was made with canvas blocks from Spotlight, as were the letters that I painted brown. I covered each piece of canvas with left over fabric from his quilt, fabric was from Funky Fabrix.
I bought an Ikea pine chest of drawers and painted it the same colour as the cot and changetable and covered the doors with the organic fabric used in the soft furnishings.
The cot and change table were second hand off gumtree and painted with an eco-friendly, child friendly paint in chocolate brown.
The patchwork quilt I made using organic fabric from Funky Fabrix.
The chair was from Ikea as was the green throw. Cushion I made with the organic fabric and this was the inspiration for the room.
I bought little wooden birds from ebay and painted them to put on the wall and to make the mobile from.
Because my best friends and a lot of my family are over the other side of Australia I wanted Maxon to grow up knowing them so I made a wall of photos that sits above his changetable. The frames are from Ikea, I painted the white ones green as that colour wasn't available.
I made his wardrobe using two bookshelves from The Reject Shop and two wardrobe bars from Bunnings.
Favorite Items
Maxon's name on the wall, and his quilt.
Advice
Pick two main colours to work from and add highlights from there. Don't be afraid to try something different, if it doesn't work then at least you gave it a go.

Thanks Juliet and LarzyB, they were so easy to do! All you need is the canvas, fabric, scissors, glue, letters and paint. It was one of the first things I did after I made the cushion. The good thing too is it doesn't have an age barrier, so when he is 5 it will still look good with decor.

Wow, your baby's only five months old and he's already got a bigger shoe collection than I have!
