A playroom is a space that inspires creativity where kids can play, read and imagine. I love mixing high style with pure fun! In this room, I had a chalkboard wall custom painted with scenes from London as memories of this family’s travels.
If the space allows, I always add more seating. I designed the window seat bench to be built-in wall to wall and added cubbies for toy bins, blankets, books and more “stuff”.
Because after play time, it’s tea time!
And when you can’t find the perfect chandelier, you have it custom made. This chrome plated lowercase letter “g” is the initial of this family’s last name and the hanging books are all children’s classics from Puffin Books. Talk about unique!
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” – Dr. Seuss
I swapped out the “Telephone” placards for the kids names and their last name. Personalization is everything.
Description
A one-of-a-kind playroom that inspires creativity where kids can play, read and imagine. I love that every corner of this space has something unexpected and genuinely unique for these two adorable siblings.
My goal was to mix high style with pure fun and the results of this room are definitely stylish with loads of pure fun from the full size telephone booth to the custom book chandelier!
Are you referring to the book wall? They are sitting on a book ledge that is wall mounted.
How do you hang the books and make them stay?
Can I ask where the white table and bench? Love them!
Love the chalkboard wall! Is the chalk permanent? If so, what did you use to create it?
are the drawings hand drawn on the chalk wall (from the pics of “places you will go”)
