Nursery for Baby Boy #2

Description

My friends requested that I help them convert their spare room into a nursery while also keeping its function as a guest room. They had already purchased most of the major furniture so I just had to add a few extra pieces and create a cohesive design. Please enjoy my inspiration board! Design Inspiration

My friend's personal style is fresh and modern -- that is what I based this room design on.

Decorating Style

Clean and modern with a touch of whimsy.  I love a stylish space that is also playful.

Project Details

Bringing elements from many different stores / brands creates dimension and novelty within a space.  For cohesion, just make sure to keep the color palette relatively tight. In addition, when purchasing baby furniture, try to choose pieces that have longevity past the nursery.  For example, for the glider, I wanted to make sure it was a chic chair that they could use in the guest room after their son had grown up...it could also easily move into other rooms!  If you're going to invest in quality furniture, you might as well make sure it has staying power!

Favorite Items

I absolutely adore the paper lanterns and the paper pom balls -- it adds an element of whimsy to the room.  In addition, I am a big fan of the Jennifer Delonge Glider.  It is stylish, brings a nice pop of color into the room and isn't overtly a glider.

Advice

Have fun with it!

I would love to know what they/you did with the walls.  Do you have an "after" photo?

This room speaks of modern elegance. No overwhelming details, so I like it very much.

I like the blue-gray-brown-white color combination. It is very relaxing and very soothing. And I like that it's modern and stylish and isn't baby-ish at all.

I like this shade of blue you used. Especially the shade of blue for you pompoms. The blue and white pompoms and the oriental paper lamps make a very relaxing and pretty combination. They are the ones that really grabbed my attention.
