Noelle’s Coral, Aqua and Gray Nursery with Gold Accents

Description

We are first time parents and were so excited to put together this nursery for our baby. I became obsessed with coral dressers after seeing them on Pinterest and knew that I wanted one for our baby girl.  I could not find the perfect dresser on Craigslist so I started looking on Etsy and that's when I found Furnished Dreams. Carol from Furnished Dreams refinished the dresser with the coral paint we chose and we couldn't be happier. The stenciled herringbone wall was a labor of love as it took my husband and I about a month to finish. At first we chose mint instead of aqua and had to repaint it. Once the wall was done everything else fell into place.

Design Inspiration

Pinterest was definitely a big inspiration! After choosing the color palette, I scoured Etsy for all things coral, gray, and aqua.

Decorating Style

We loved that the nursery had something old (dresser) mixed with contemporary furniture.

Favorite Items

The wall and dresser are my two favorite items! I can't just pick one.

Advice

Don't be afraid to change paint colors! Also we had gray nursery furniture picked out and an entirely different color palette but changed everything when we decided on the coral dresser. It's ok to change your mind.

Also, did you do a double paint coat on each color section? or just one layer?

Thanks Teresa! We ordered the paints and should be ready to start next week! We are nervous about attempting the stencil but excited! It looks like the herringbone on the far right edge of your picture is smaller/narrower than the pattern on the rest- how did you adjust to finish off? Did you start on the ceiling or in the middle? It looks so good, I hope we’re able to make it look so good!

Hi Alicia! Just saw this – we used Ben Moore white straight out of the can as a base! Can’t wait to see your nursery!

Hi Teresa! Hands down the prettiest nursery I’ve seen! My husband and I are going to buy the stencil! Did you paint the white/off-white base under the stencil, too? If so, do you remember which color you used?
