Description

This room which used to be the guest bedroom in our house had to be transformed to a bedroom for my 2 year old son on a slim to none budget. I had just given birth to my daughter and needed to put her in my son's crib and so decided to create this room. Limited time and resources made that this room was furnished and decorated within 2 weeks.

Design Inspiration

I was given the duvet cover as a gift and pulled from the colors as inspiration.

Decorating Style

My decorating style is to create an enjoyable, relaxing and livable space. I try to represent the personalities of those I decorate for (i.e. my son LOVES owls). I work well on a small budget as I know where to splurge and where to be creative as well as tight timelines.

Project Details

This guest bedroom was already painted that blue color so I painted the top a light cream yellow. I then bought wood moldings which I painted white and nailed to the wall. The alphabet decals are from Omer Deserres. The bed is from Ikea, which I also painted white, nailed a plywood to the headboard, padded it with foam from Walmart and stapled the fabric that I bought online at designerfabrics.ca. The dresser, rug, sofa-bed and desk are all from Ikea as well. The art is from Etsy - Little Lion Studio. I think I covered everything :)
