Noah’s Big Boy Room!

Description

Wanted to do something bright and fun to match my son's bubbly personality.

Design Inspiration

I was inspired by all the funky rooms i see at Ikea and just wanted a fun space that would be his to learn and grow.

Decorating Style

It all depends. I love mixing colors that usually wouldnt be mixed and i LOVE old and vintage things. I still want to get him some old vintage toys and posters when i find them to hang up.

Project Details

His bed was a gift from his grandparents from amazon.com and i loved it because it was practical for my son. He LOVES books and i loved that he could store some in his headboard. His blue bookshelf and red hanging bookshelves are from ikea. I LOVED that blue bookshelf because it really made his room for his age and balanced out the bright green we painted it. My son was currently obsessed with Toy Story so i gave in and his great grandparents bought the bedding at target.com. The painting between the square shelves was by me and the art work on his art shelf is by Noah. The train table we scored on Craigslist for $50 and it came with a huge wooden train! I love having that in his room as well.

Favorite Items

I love the blue bookshelf because like i said it really balances out the bright green walls. I love painting i did because it's something i did almost 4 years ago and had no idea where to hang. It also has a quote that was my cousin's favorite before she passed. I also love his alphabet banner which i saw online and have a ton of alphabet cards for my son so i decided to re-create it. It was so cheap and easy and turned out SO cute! I also love his art shelf with Noah's own art work because it really makes his room his own.

Advice

It's easy and cheap to use your children's art, or even frame some cute pictures out of a children's book to hang on their walls. Try to bring as much of their personality into the room and dont be afraid to mix colors!

I'd just have to say that this is a wonderful room :)  Am not really a fan of the green you used, but the accents and the furniture are really outstanding that it's really forgivable to use green on the walls!
