Nest Baby Shower

Description

She’s making her nest and getting her rest before her sweet baby girl arrives. Luscious... describes this mouth watering color palette. Fresh and yummy, citrus and sorbet mixed with just the right balance of robins egg blue. The colors of spring with the bright promise of summer.

Design Inspiration

COLOR, nature and of course a gorgeous baby about to make her arrival.

Decorating Style

I always like to mix styles... and lean toward a modern aesthetic.

Project Details

Pics 1 & 2 Time and again you will hear me chirp the praises of paint.  This beautiful birdhouse has been a dusty relic banished to the basement for far too long.  With a fresh mandarin orange coat of paint it went from rustic to exotic.  What a statement!

So often inspiration can be found in nature.  These ranunculus are breathtaking! See how they enhanced our color story with absolute perfection? I swoon!

Pics 3 & 4

I love to bake, but let’s face it, there just isn’t always time.  Take it from me... there is no shame in a store bought goodies.  Our dessert table showcased a lemon, chocolate silk and banana cream pie along with cake and cupcakes.  I personalized them with flowers and candy eggs to reflect the theme of the day.

Pics 5 & 6

An invitation always sets the tone of any event or party.  Our invite was enhanced by a variety of scrapbooking paper.   We used similar papers to create our favors.  The mixture of pattern adds a whimsical touch.
You really can’t have a feather her nest party without a nest.  We filled ours with rich chocolate eggs wrapped in bright colored foil.

Pics 7-9

Try this simple yet sophisticated version of a sack lunch.  Guests were treated to chicken salad wraps, fresh fruit salad and an assortment of chips.
Bye Bye Birdie! I am crazy about these miniature paper bird cages.  So fun and simple to make.  I recommend starting a week or so in advance. Gather a few friends or family and they will be done in no time.  An adorable favor well worth your efforts.
Cheers to a beautiful day and a fabulous way to celebrate baby.  Congratulations in advance to the proud parents to be!

Special thanks to my lovely co- hostesses with the mostesses.  Loads of affection and best wishes to our guests of honor... can’t wait to nuzzle on baby Russo!

Favorite Items

The birdcage just makes me BEAM and I am seriously loving the miniature birdcage favors.

Advice

Color goes a long way... find old birdcages and as I mentioned before, transform them from rustic to exotic with bright and bold paint!

What a totally original idea!  I love how you used those bird cages for the main table and those chocolate eggs on the nests! Even the giveaways are a lot of fun!
