Description
This room used to be my scrapbook/work out/guest bedroom. Once we found out I was pregnant, we decided to keep one half of the room for the guest bed and turn the other side into the nursery, since it's a fairly big space. It's my favorite room in our home to sit in now since the blues and greens are so relaxing. I hope it's a room that Toby will grow to love just as much as I do!
Design Inspiration
Once we found out we were having a boy, I immediately started designing the nursery based on our favorite vacation spot - Maine. All of the details are nautical or beach themed, and the majority of the items I DIYed myself since I love crafting. I collected a lot of the items over several months and also took some leftover things from our wedding, which was beach-themed.
Decorating Style
I honestly designed this room more for me and my husband, as we will most likely be moving in a couple years and I'll be able to design a more "fun" room at that time for our son when he's a bit older. Since I would be spending most of the time in the nursery, I wanted something relaxing and calm. I'm not a huge fan of baby-ish characters so choosing a more adult theme was important for me.
Project Details
More pictures and detailed descriptions of all of the items I included can be found at my blog - I wrote up two posts:

Favorite Items
It's hard to choose just one piece, but I would have to say my favorite part of the room is a small tile art piece that's part of the gallery wall - it has a blue whale on it. We found the tile in a small shop in San Diego on our babymoon.
Advice
Start early in your pregnancy with collecting things. I would visit HomeGoods, Christmas Tree Shops, TJMaxx, etc every week to check out new items. And be sure to shop for a glider early on! The color I wanted would have taken 4 months to come in and wouldn't have arrived in time before our baby was born, so I had to settle on a different color.
What is the paint color?
Very cool and breezy room. I won’t mind spending the entire day in here. I had to look for the whale tile art, and it’s indeed a very neat find.
