Description
I designed this modern nursery for my son, Jacob. Hard to believe he is already four and a half now!
Design Inspiration
For this room I wanted to use clean lines, bright colors, and touches of a jungle animal "theme".
Decorating Style
This room was more of a mod/transitional style.

I DIY'd the crib skirt using simple white fabric. I attached it to the crib with velcro so I could adjust the length when the mattress would be lowered.
The mobile came from Baby's R Us, I think!
We photographed the room before any baby showers happened, so we didn't get a good shot of the changing table with the changing pad. Our son decided to make his arrival a bit earlier than we anticipated, and we never got around to photographing it after he was born.
Favorite Items
Aside from the DIY elements that I made, my favorite item is the Eames rocker. My husband and I decided since the crib and changing table were gifted to us, we could go ahead and make the investment on the chair. My son and I have clocked numerous hours in this chair, and even almost five years later, it is still one of my favorite pieces of furniture.
Advice
Don't be afraid to have a little fun with the decorating in the nursery. I wanted this room to be playful and colorful since the rest of the house was mostly gray. We spent money on the items we knew we could get a lot of mileage on, and looked for budget friendly decor that we knew would change as our son got older.
