When we found out our second baby was going to be a boy, I was shocked and excited!  Having only our daughter Olivia for these past three years, I definitely got used to all things girly girl.  But there were so many things that I was looking forward to as a boy mama – starting with setting up a boy nursery!

The very first thing I bought was this pentagon prism flushed light from Pottery Barn Kids.  It ended up being my inspiration for the rest of the modern and timeless look of the nursery.  From there, I decided on a combination of deep navy blue, brass, and wooden undertones.

I loved that we were able to re-use furniture from Olivia’s nursery, like the Pottery Barn Kids Kendall crib and the West Elm Graham glider.  (That’s why it’s always good to go neutral with big items!)  And since Olivia has transitioned to a big girl toddler room, we brought over some of her old nursery decor, too, including the alphabet print from Hobby Lobby, diaper basket from Pottery Barn Kids, and white faux sheepskin rug from IKEA.

My hardworking hubby painted the accent wall with Behr’s Bon Nuit – the perfect, summer night sky, midnight blue for our June baby boy.  The paint color matched the deep navy blue legs of the dip-dyed stool from Serena & Lily, changing pad cover from Pottery Barn Kids, ottoman poof from HomeGoods, and desk lamp from Kate Spade.  It also complimented the brass in the round mirror from Magnolia’s Hearth & Hand line and the floor lamp from Target.

The final touch was styling the IKEA ledges above the dresser with wooden-framed prints, books, and some greenery.  Now, if we can just decide on a name for baby boy, we can hang it above his crib!
