Maybre’s Daisy Garden Nursery

Description

Daisy Garden theme. Flowers, butterflies, and paisleys. Bright and bold. Full of life and growth. Was all ideas for my daughter's room. I wanted a homemade look and with in my budget.

Design Inspiration

I wanted a room that was bright and colorful. I did it backwards. I found the color and then the bedding. Which it turned out to match. I wanted to use every color possible. Luckly the bedding had many so that made it so easy to accent.

Decorating Style

When we built our house I pick the color by moods. I know that sounds crazy but that is how I decorate. What the room makes me feel. We were so excited about our second child being a girl so I wanted something bright and colorful.

Project Details

Maybre's nursery took from Oct 2010 till Jan 2011 to complete. Her due date was Feb 6.  I was working on a budget and had to organize and plan when to buy what items.
Her bedding was purchased from Pottery Barn Kids. It was on sale! LOVE PBK!
Her crib was from Target.
I hand made all of her wall handing/decor or reused items. I bought the little doll clothes off ebay and put her initals on them.  I bought the line and clothes pin from the dollar tree. I used some little hook hangers and screwed them into the wall then hot glued a spray painted flower from Micheals to match to hold the line.
The wall with the wording I bought all wood pieces from Walmart along with the spray paint. I got a local signage shop to do the lettering. Along with her name on the wall and the door hanger.
The shelf was one I had in our shed that I painted white. The bird house was from Walmart. The flowers were with the dresser and night stand at Ashley Furniture.

I also made her blocks with her name on it. My husband cut some left over wood and I used spray paint from Walmart.
I wanted a country/fun/bright feel to the room. I didn't want to be limited with one or two colors. Plus I didn't want her room all pink. So I used every color that was in her bedding to accent the room.

My sister in law and I painted her room to save on cost. Paint was purchased from Home Depot. We did the Bear Paint with primer already in it. Worked great! Two days to complete!
Glider was reused from when I had my son. We painted it white and the cushions already was green.

Favorite Items

This was my first ever project. I worked really hard on everything so I would have to say my favorite item is the room as a whole. No one was paid to do it. We did it all from flooring to painting to little accents. I wanted it to be my daughter's happy place! She is our sunshine!

Advice

Depending on your personality or mood you can let it come through decorating. Don't ever limit yourself! Do the research and keep every thing that inspires you. You might not use everything you like but it will come together so much smoother the more you have to choose from. I was on $1,000.00 budget and I was glad I was able to accomplish what I wanted with in that budget. Hope everyone enjoys the room as much as I enjoyed working on it. It brings a smile to my face. :)

It's really been a while since I've seen a combination of pastels used for a room.  I love this!

Love your ideas here.  Very charming and beautiful.  I think that for a first project, you really excelled!  What are those hanging beneath the flower shelves?  They're cute :)  And where'd you get those flowers on top on the shelves with the birdhouse?
