Max’s Wickedly Wizard Party

Description

I styled this table for a little boy’s 7th birthday.  I incorporated hues of black, dark blues,  grays, and yellow to give the dessert table a vintage and haunted feel.  Going with the haunted and spooky vibe, creepy elements like owls, spiders, rats, cauldrons, and test tubes were used for the table decor and favors. Wizardly treats included items like wizard’s teeth, magical wands, cauldron cakes, and candy corn push-pops.  The real star of this wickedly sweet table was “Max’s Book of Spells” cake. We loved the little mouse and owl!  This table made a little boy very happy!  I hope all the elements of Max's party inspires you to host a fun Harry Potter screening,  Dress-Up, or Halloween party!

Design Inspiration

Using Harry Potter as the inspiration, I created a Wizard-inspired party as opposed to pulling in specific Harry Potter characters.  Since it was also for an older child (and mostly boys attending the party), I wanted to create more of a haunted vibe than something too cutesy for a kid's birthday party.

Decorating Style

Simple, sophisticated, playful.

Advice

I got inspiration for this event by starting with the color theme, season, and a set of vintage looking cake pedestals I found.  Everything fell into place after that!  Just look around you and you'll be amazed by what can inspire a whole party theme!

I definitely like the theme! I am a Harry Potter fan, too! I admire the details. And oh, I love the handwritten notes, labels and banners. What font is that? It looks so appropriate!
