Max’s Modern Safari Nursery

Description

While on bed rest for 8 weeks, I had the joy of designing a special room for my little guy.  I am by no means a designer, so this was my first crack and a complete room re-do and I loved every second of it.  I chose the bright colors because I wanted Max to have lots of fun things to look at and explore in his room.

Design Inspiration

I have always loved elephants and giraffes, so I knew I had to incorporate them into the design of the room.  I didn't want it to feel too baby baby, but at the same time, wanted it to be a fun space that Max would be able to enjoy for as long as we are living in our current home.

I was so lucky that my parents saved so many of my childhood books so I wanted to make sure that they were displayed in a special way!

Decorating Style

Modern and fun with pops of color.  This is by far the most colorful room in our house though!

I fell in love with the elephant lamp from Homegoods!  The shade it came with what not so cute, but I found that cute fabric and it turned out great!

Advice

You can make so many things on your own without having to spend a ton of money on them!  I had a lot of time on my hands, so I spend a lot of time DIYing, but so many of the things in this room were not expensive at all!

The colors in this room are so nice together! Way to put that bed rest to good use.

It's nice that you mixed the safari theme with the blue and white color scheme. It's a unique combination. I usually think of green or brown or black when one says safari.
