Mary Hayes’ Nursery

Description

I wanted a girly room for my daughter without painting the walls pink or making it overly BABY! I wanted it sweet, simple, and welcoming. By using blue as the main color and pops of pink around the room, I think we accomplished the exact look we were going for.

Design Inspiration

The inspiration for this room came initially from the damask fabric. I found it online at www.babybedding.com, but did not love the coordinating fabrics that they had with it. I ordered just the fabric alone and found other  fabrics I liked better to go with it.  I also wanted to incorporate vintage looking pieces and pictures and doll furniture from my childhood to give it an eclectic and comfortable vibe.

Decorating Style

Classic, southern, eclectic, warm and inviting

Favorite Items

I can't pick just one thing. I love the window mirror and the crib. These are probably two of my favorites.

Advice

Take your time and find the items you want.  Don't just buy the first thing you see to fill a space. Look around your house and see if you have old pictures that you could paint the frames and search Craigslist for items you could paint as well!

The nursery is gorgeous! Can you tell me the name and brand of the paint color?

AngelsBreath,

Yes! They are prints. The artist is Debbie Kingston. Not sure if they are available anymore or not as they are about 20 years old!

The artworks framed on the wall all look really interesting. So they are prints? The mirrors above the crib adds a point of interest as well.
