Margot’s Modern Gray, Orange and Yellow Nursery

Description

A nursery for a modern little lady.

Design Inspiration

More of a design challenge: We don't like pink!

Decorating Style

I guess we call it Modern Junior Sputnik.

Project Details

The big accent wall was made with a bunch of masking tape and a few pints of Home Depot paint. The bird screen prints are from our buddies at Bee Things. The wooden mobile is homemade. The rug is from Safavieh. The two little critter books on the top shelf are self-published by local designer named Erin Zingre.

Favorite Items

The big Nursery Works rocking chair. It's really well made and the wooden legs look great in person. Best part: the fabric is water resistant.

Advice

Don't fight the IKEA machine. They have nice basics you can add custom touches to.

I LOVE the wooden mobile! I'm staging a MCM house & would like to make one for the nursery. How long did you cut the dowels & what size balls did you use? Thanks!
