Malone’s Quirky Nursery

Description

I wanted a nursery that would be easy for my little girl to grow into. I decided on a chocolate brown, blue, red, yellow and white color scheme. I love Anthropologie and that was the inspiration for the room. I think it turned out well and Malone seems to love it! Go to megandcalconner.blogspot.com for more photos!

Design Inspiration

Quirky finds from Anthropologie are dear to my heart and this was the inspiration for her room.  I also wanted a nursery that she could grow into.

Decorating Style

I like to mix old and new, modern and traditional.  With a little whimsy too.  I don't like things to be too matchy matchy.

Project Details

I was 7 months prego when I put the tree wall decal up so my sister helped me out with that one.  It was very easy.  Went right up.  The decal above the bookcase however was a little harder.  I used rate my space, design dazzle, this website, Little Heirlooms for room inspiration.

Favorite Items

I love the mobile.  It was the jumping off point of the room.  I also love the artwork by the window.  I think the saying is so cute and matched the room perfectly!

Advice

I combed through tons of pictures before jumping into the room.  I was pretty prepared for the room I was trying to achieve.  I knew what I didn't want and that seemed to help guide me through the design process.  Find pieces you really love and you can make it work in the room.  Happy decorating!

This is lovely. I would dearly love to know where you got the canvas from.

The lamp is part of the bedding suite.  It is called Delilah by Cocalo Couture.
