Description
This is a fairly simple nursery. I was hoping to avoid a lot of clutter on the walls and such. The initial idea was to paint stripes on all four walls, but my wife felt it was to much, so we decided on a mural for the big wall. When we looked on etsy.com and went with a monkey mural to match his bedding. The crib and dresser are Baby Cache' from Babies R' us. His little chairs are from Pottery Barn.
Design Inspiration
We were looking for a clean, simple room for our little one without being to ordinary.

Project Details
When painting the strips, a laser level will be your best friend. The mural is from etsy.com.

We loved the crib from the minute we saw it, so that was an easy purchase, the dresser isn't really what we wanted but it was the only only in the set, and since it was a special color we had to go with it.
Advice
When painting the stripes, you need to allow plenty of time for the paint to throughly dry. We waited three weeks before we went and taped the wall. A laser lever will be your best friend for this.
I usually check out BRU, but I don’t recall seeing that. :) Thanks for telling me where you got that crib :)
This dang website always loads my comments twice lol
Thank you both angelsbreath and littleluke for the compliments. The brand of paint used was Valspar and the brown was coffee, and the blue was sailboat.

We are doing my new baby boys room in the same monkey bedding, and having trouble deciding on the wall color. We didn’t want to do blue since our 2 year old already has blue. The brown is perfect. What was the color and where did you buy it? I would love to create a similar warm feel in the room. Thanks
What is the exact color of the brown and blue you used here? I’d love to try out this color combination as it is very serene!
Thank you Dandelion, thats what I was going for. I feel having a bunch of things makes it feel cluttered and I like simple (even though my wife doesn’t) lol. Also to Cottonlily, thank you as well. I hope that maybe one day you are up to it. It really isn’t that hard, but more time consuming. But once you have to tape all up its rather quick painting. Maybe if you wanted to try it you could put a chair at about 4 foot, which would divide the room so you would have as much taping for the stripes. So feel free to stop in with any questions or comments and I will try and help out as best I can.

Good tips about painting the stripes. I don’t think I have the patience to attempt it though! I love that huge bright window you have.
I like this room because it’s simple, yet very playful. It just goes to show that whimsy doesn’t have to mean that you litter the room in all types and manners of colors and decorations!
Thank you, the crib is Baby Cache’ Heritage collection, and we got it at Babies R’ us.
I understand why it was love at first sight for you and the crib. That is simply gorgeous, where did you buy it???
