Description
Louise's nursery is full of pretty pastels. Sage green walls, pink curtains, blue rug, yellow headboard.
Design Inspiration
I wanted the nursery to be sweet but not overly girly, and colorful but not too loud.
Project Details
The headboard is actually a finished canvas floor cloth designed to add color but not take up space, hand painted by Louise's grandmother to match the nursery's motif.
We bought the bedside table at a consignment store and painted it white, adding the little curtain hanging from a tension rod to hide the storage inside. When she's older we can sew a curtain with a different pattern and it will be a whole new table.
Rug: Overstock
Crib: Graco Lauren
Chest with knobs: We replaced the old industrial knobs with rose globes and sage circles to match the walls. We painted the sides with chalk paint since they were a dingy yellow, and Louise can later draw on them with chalk when she's older.
The pictures are from my own nursery 30 years ago, but we spray painted the old brass frames to look like brushed silver.
Above the crib hangs a beautiful watercolor monogram painted by a very talented friend.

That's such a lovely headboard for the bed. And lovingly handpainted at that! I got confused with the "finished canvas floor cloth" though because I have no idea what that is. I am familiar with simple canvas; what's the difference?

The headboard was the first thing I noticed too. So pretty.
