Description
This Shabby-Chic nursery is feminine and sweet and a result of custom crib bedding, antique shop finds and restored furniture.
Design Inspiration
My inspiration stemmed from my obsession with mixing floral and stripped fabrics to create an heirloom look. I wanted the bedding to be sweet and feminie, but to look like it had been handed down.
I also was inspired and motiviated by creating a room that my daughter could grow into. Something that could easily transition from nursery to toddler to a "big girl" room.
Decorating Style
"Collected over time", best describes my decorating sytle. I enjoy the hunt of the perfect piece. Searching on-line or in antique and thrift shops for deals is my thing!
Project Details
Beaded Molding look on armoire:
I wanted to create more architectural detail on molding of the armoire so that it had more of a shabby chic look to it.
I used caulking to adhere strands of white mari-gras beads to the molding of the armoire. Then I followed up with white paint to create a seemless look.
Favorite Items
I love the crib bedding.
