Lilly Pulitzer Nursery

Description

This is a Lilly Pulitzer- inspired nursery. It's feminine, but not over-the-top pink and is something a baby girl can grow into for a toddler room. I created this for my daughter, who was born in March of 2012.

Design Inspiration

My goal was to create a subtle Lilly Pulitzer nursery theme and I wanted to bring this project to fruition using original ideas without the assistance of a professional designer.

Decorating Style

Traditional, colorful, original.

Project Details

The crib and dresser/ changing table are from the Savanna Bella collection from JCPenney. The wood is dovetail and high quality. The bedding and curtains are from the Pottery Barn Kids Harper Nursery Collection. I purchased the dress form on Amazon and the faux pearls and tutu from a kiosk in the local mall. The Lilly Pulitzer pillows, wreath, and fabric inside the hanging wall frames were purchased from My Pink and Green Garden on Etsy. The hanging wall frames are from Pier One Imports. The rocking chair was a lucky find at Summer House Marketplace in Tampa, and the wicker nightstand is a hand-me-down from a friend. Lastly, the wall paint is the "Green Goddess" shade of Valspar paint, which is exclusively sold at Lowe's.

Favorite Items

The dress form in the tutu and pearls. It was an original idea that I'd never previously seen in a nursery.

Advice

With using any bold pattern, it's best to not over-do it. Pick a few pieces that you like best to "pop" (like the pillows and fabric in the wall frames) and use a solid color for everything else (like the wall paint and the bedding/ curtains).
